Buescher 400 Tenor Sax (ca. 1951) – Warm Vintage Sound & Norton Springs
This Buescher 400 tenor saxophone (serial number 365464 ) was built around 1951 and comes from Buescher's sought-after transitional period: similar to the full, warm tone of the Top Hat & Cane generation, but with a sleeker, more modern look.
Why this saxophone stands out:
- Original Norton springs with gold coating – smooth and responsive
- Completely overhauled with new Pisone pads
- Original paint with beautiful patina
- Comfortable playing feel and smooth mechanism
- Warm, smoky tone – perfect for jazz and ballads
- No Snap-In pads – easier maintenance with modern pads
- Unique bell design with low B and B flat openings on the back
Technical condition:
- Mechanical: In good condition – everything runs smoothly
- Pads: new Pisoni with metal resonators
- Cosmetic: Normal paint wear with no major damage or dents
- Case: Included
An instrument with soul – beloved by players for its rich tone and direct feel. Ideal for jazz, studio recording, or live gigs, this Buescher offers character and class at a fair price.
